Over Easter weekend, Saturday and Sunday, our Swiss friends Urs and Brigitte visited us from their home near Zurich. We met them in Chicago where they lived for two years. They just recently returned to Switzerland and came to Lugano to visit. Believe it or not, Rick had a football game scheduled on Easter, so he was with the football team, and I took Urs and Brigitte up to Monte San Salvatore above Lugano. It was a beautiful Easter morning! There were snow covered Alps all across in the distance. In real life those mountains feel much closer than in the panoramic picture.
There is a very old church atop Monte San Salvatore. You can climb to the roof of the church for a 360 degree view!
We had to take the funicular up the mountain. It is very steep and there are actually two trains in which the second one travels at a steeper angle. As I have a 2-zone Lugano bus pass, I found I was able to take the funicular for 1/2 price. Yeah!
Back down the mountain while walking to our bus stop, I just found this picture down by the lake in Paradiso so beautiful and colorful!

The under 16 team won 16-0 against the Bienna Jets and the senior team won 14-6 against the Jets. This was a great win, as the senior team is now in a higher league and the teams are tougher!
Go Lakers!
