September 4, 2017 - Hiking with the cows on Flumserberg mountain!

Our view from the cable lift cabin as we ascend to the Flumserberg.
I had seen a lift up to a mountain along Lake Walensee, so that's where we went today.  Probably took the most picturesque Swiss cow pictures ever!
Enjoying the ride up!

Flumserberg ski resort town. This part is actually called Tannenbodenalp. At this time in September it was very quiet. It doesn't seem like they need so many lanes for traffic up here, but I bet in winter they do!

Not actually knowing where to begin our hike, we check the map and see a short circle hike nearby and decide to do that first. It ended up being the most picturesque!

The cows were grazing at this time in this area. Lake Walensee is down in the valley behind the cow.

I know it's a lot of cow pictures!

Leslie enjoying the view overlooking Lake Walensee

This guy had an itch and was scratching it on the bench!

What a lucky cow life!

Of course we had to get ourselves in pictures with the cows!

Our favorite picture from our trip together!

We see there is a toboggan ride here called the Floomzer. Of course we had to try it!
A view of the ride down.
We could have gone really fast, but us two old ladies took it slow and careful. Didn't want to fly off any curves!

We found a lovely restaurant to enjoy our lunch - the Sennastube. Delicious!!!! And with a great view!
We continue our hike after lunch - uphill!
We follow this path from the restaurant and come to a steep zig zag going up.
Ahh, resting my knee!
At the top of that zig zag path.
From that last hike up we took the service road down. When we got back to where we began, we saw that they had brought the cows in for milking. So glad we took that hike in their pasture earlier - it would not have been the same without them.
Back in Jona, Leslie and I enjoy a veggie pizza for dinner. Yum!
