Well, the main reason we headed here to Austria is that I have a Facebook friend who is an Austrian singer from this area. Back when I was working for Swiss and Austrian Airlines, I met the singer, Falco Luneau, who was on one of the flights. The Vienna office told us about him and that he would sing for us! I called him up to the desk at the departure gate and asked him to sing for everyone. It was a very funny time, and we've been friends on Facebook ever since.

Having dinner before the concert - Rick enjoying the local brewed beer called Fohrenburger. Very good! |
Falco Luneau singing at the Osterrock concert in Thüringen, Austria, on Easter evening. The concert was benefiting the firefighters in the area. He sang lots of 70's, 80's pop songs. |
Falco singing some "Cold Play" during the Osterrock concert.

A quick selfie of Falco and I! |

Rick and I were one of the oldest couples there. Lots of young people, but who would ever see 20 something year olds in Lederhosen in the USA? |
Easter Monday we drove to the nearby ski resort town of Brand. Yes! Rick found a golf course here too, but still too much snow. |

A view of the valley by Bludenz, as we came down the mountain from Brand. |
As we got to the bottom of valley, there were these cliffs, with a mountain climber practicing. You have to look close or enlarge the picture. The climber is in blue on the middle of the cliff above the guy in red. |
Last Monday afternoon Rick and I took a hike up the mountain behind Bludenz and got this view from an open meadow. |
As we were walking along a forest path, there was a little Christmas tree with handmade, straw ornaments on it! Each ornament was a different snowflake. I thought this was real special to see! |
As we made our way back to the hotel, we noticed this lovely yard - the fence had twigs woven into it to give it a more natural look, and there were beautiful ponds. What a view! |
We noticed a number of people using a type of "cage" fence, where they put rocks in-between for privacy. (and rocks are plentiful!) The purple balcony on the house is really solar panels, which they cleverly disguised at shutters on the house too! |
